Barnes & Noble Birthday Book Haul
It's been a long time since I've done a book haul post!
It’s literally been months since I last did one, which means I’ve been successfully sticking to my book-buying ban!
I must admit, I’m doing this ban a bit begrudgingly because they’re books. I want to buy them all, especially several that are coming out, or have already been published this year! But, we must be responsible book-lovers as well. Anyways, I thought I did quite well when hauling because I got every book on sale! B&N had an online sale (which I believe is still going on) of buy three Young Adult for $30. The other two, I bought in store for $5.95 each! That’s some seriously smart book buying if I daresay so myself!
From the picture, you can see I bought five books. Some, I’ve already read. Some, no. But I’m excited to have each and every one!
The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz
When I first became aware of this book last year before it was published, I knew I'd have to buy it no matter what. It's a surprising buy for me because its a YA Contemporary, but it has a fantasy feel to it from the synopsis? I'm not sure. Ballet, forgotten past life, and a sinister school master in Italy surely sounds interesting to me!
The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross
I was lucky enough to get an eARC of this book and absolutely loved it. So, I had to buy a physical copy after it came out! (Not to mention it's beautiful cover!) This is a medieval YA fantasy full of beautiful characters, prose, and magic. I'd highly recommend this read to anyone who loves YA fantasy! My full review of this book will be up this weekend.
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Having read this books a few times through (via eReader) I've always meant to buy this book for my collection. Well, now I have! This Classic Gothic novel is a mix of everything: mystery, plot, atmosphere, and a touch of horror.
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
This is a book that I've been wanting to buy for more than a year. I'm not sure why, but I kept putting it off...perhaps for other new releases? Anyways, I finally got it! I've heard some really great things about this series, and hope it lives up to its high praise (and again, amazing covers!)
The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh
Seeing how I own the first book in the series (although, still unread) I figured I'd buy the second. This is another series I've heard a lot of good about, so I hope I enjoy it. But, this book was one on sale for $5.95, so it's more justifiable of a purchase. 😛
